The Faculty of Psychology and Sports Sciences of Johann-Wolfgang Goethe
University Frankfurt, at the Chair of Developmental Psychology (led by
Prof. Dr. Yee Lee Shing) is offering two predoctoral researchers (E13
TV-G-U, 65%-part-time) positions starting in Summer/Fall 2019 for a
duration of 3 years.
The successful candidates will conduct research in the context of the
ERC Starting Grant “Predictive memory systems across the lifespan” that
aims to examine the development of memory-based prediction in children,
young adults, and older adults. One predoctoral researcher will address
these questions using experimental and (f)MRI methods, the other one
using experimental, eye-tracking and electrophysiological methods. The
latter position has teaching commitment (2 LVS). The successful
candidates will take lead on setting up the experimental paradigms,
collecting and analyzing data, as well as writing up scientific
manuscripts for publication. The successful candidates will be members
of the Lifespan Cognitive and Brain Development (LISCO) lab that has an
international team (see

Applicants should have a master in cognitive neuroscience, psychology,
or related disciplines, with good knowledge (ideally also experience)
for neuroimaging techniques. Computer programming skills (Matlab, Unix,
Python, R) are highly desirable. Applicants should have excellent
organizational skills, be highly motivated for research, and be able to
communicate effectively with outstanding writing ability.
