Postdoctoral position at UAM

The Department of Experimental Psychology at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid offers a 3-year postdoctoral position to work under the supervision of Miguel Vadillo (http://mvadillo.com) on a MadrI+D funded project focused on meta-analysis, open science, cognitive modeling, and implicit cognition. The main goals of the project are (a) to design and test new statistical methods to assess the reproducibility of empirical findings in psychology, (b) to design and implement large-scale pre-registered studies on controversial findings in the area of implicit cognition, and (c) to develop new methods to address the shortcomings of current research practices in this domain.

The ideal candidate should have a PhD in psychology or a related field, with a strong theoretical and methodological background in behavioral research. Good programming skills (e.g., MATLAB, R, Python) and familiarity with advanced statistical methods and/or data mining algorithms would be a valuable asset.

Our department https://www.uam.es/Psicologia/Home.htm offers a friendly and stimulating research environment. The successful candidate will benefit from access to fully equipped laboratories with testing rooms, eyetrackers, EEG machines and other resources, including a particularly efficient participant recruitment system. He/she will also work in close collaboration with a rich network of researchers in Spain and the UK. Additional funds to attend conferences and workshops are also available.
