This position will be based in the School of Psychology at UNSW Sydney, which is part of the Faculty of Science. The Research Associate will play a key role in conducting research within a three-year, ARC-funded project investigating the influence of rewards on attention. While primarily within the area of cognitive psychology, this project will also relate to the psychological processes of addiction. The RA will be responsible for day-to-day running of the project: preparing experiments using MATLAB, recruiting and testing participants, analysing data, writing scientific reports and papers, and presenting findings at local and international conferences.
About the successful applicant
To be successful in this role you will have:
- An honours degree and/or postgraduate qualifications (Masters/PhD) in psychology/cognitive science or a closely related field.
- Demonstrated experience of conducting psychological experiments with human participants, and reporting results.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, and competence in statistical data analysis.
