Seeking for Research Assistant in Cognitive Neuroscience, EEG, Data analysis

Applications are invited for a part-time (25 hours/week) research assistant position to contribute to research projects in the MRG led by Salvador Soto-Faraco, at the Center for Brain and Cognition — Universitat Pompeu Fabra (Barcelona).

Description: We seek highly motivated candidates with a background in cognitive/computational neuroscience or similar; they will provide support research in projects addressing the neural and cognitive bases of human perception, attention, and memory. The tasks include participant recruitment, software development (programming/adapting code for experiments), building simple setups for experiments, data collection (psychophysical, EEG, eye tracking), support in data analysis, database maintenance and update, group web maintenance, support in administrative and organizational tasks.  
Required: previous (demonstrable) experience in human electrophysiological and behavioural data collection in a cognitive neuroscience lab, basic programming skills (Matlab, Python, R), experience in EEG pre-processing and statistical data analysis. 

Valued/desirable: Experience with VR set ups, and/or real time, brain computer interface applications, and/or eye tracking. Machine Learning skills. Ideally, the candidate will apply for funding to carry out doctoral studies in the group’s research lines.

Conditions: The position is part-time (25 hours/week) and will be initially funded for 6 months (or until 31/8/26, whichever comes first).  
Starting date: September 15, 2025 or as soon as possible thereafter.

Salary (gross before tax):  ~ 1.700 Eur. month. Remote working is not possible since the job requires laboratory work.

Eligibility: The candidate must be able to legally work in Spain. Good communication skills in English (both written and spoken). Basic communication skills in Spanish and/or Catalan (to be able to recruit and communicate with subjects).
