The Department of Experimental Psychology at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid offers a 12-month research assistant position to work under the supervision of Miguel Vadillo on a national project focused on unconscious cognition. The main goals of the project are: (a) to identify problems in current research methods employed in research on unconscious cognitive process, (b) design new methodological approaches to overcome those problems, and (c) apply those methods in high-quality empirical studies.

The ideal candidate should have a master’s degree in psychology or a related field, with a strong background in statistics, behavioral research methods, and programming (R, MATLAB, Python). Experience with meta-analytic methods, eye tracking, EEG, fMRI and brain stimulation methods would be valuable. Candidates with an interest in pursuing a PhD in the host team and willing to apply for FPI or FPU fellowships in regional and national calls will be prioritized.

Our department offers a friendly and stimulating research environment. The successful candidate will benefit from access to fully equipped laboratories with testing rooms, eye trackers, EEG machines and other resources, including a particularly efficient participant recruitment system. He/she will also work in close collaboration with a rich network of researchers in Spain and the UK. Additional funds to attend conferences and workshops are also available.
