We are looking to hire a new postdoc funded by the grant “Learning new habits: A multi-process approach”. At this point, we are asking for expressions of interest so we can adapt the contract to the necessities of the new employee.

We are looking for a person holding a PhD degree in Psychology (or something else, not really important). The perfect candidate should have the following skills:

• Excellent knowledge of R and tidyverse.
• Excellent programming skills, being able to program complex experiments in Psychopy and/or Psychtoolbox so they can be conducted in the laboratory and online.
• Excellent knowledge of advanced statistics (LMM/GLMM, Bayesian, etc).
• Excellent knowledge of cognitive modelling (reinforcement learning, Bayesian, decision, etc).

Also, this person should be OK with open science practices like preregistration and sharing materials, data, etc. Importantly, they should have rights to work in Spain (for instance, by holding an EU passport). We offer an initial contract of 6 months, that could be extended until the end of 2025. Salary is competitive at least for Spanish standards.

Because we are just asking for expressions of interest, we can be very flexible. We can adjust the beginning of the contract so it suits the candidate’s interests; also, we could do this contract full time or part time. A part time contract will allow the candidate to keep their current work and maybe work for us only 2 or 3 days a week. Importantly, the candidate can work remotely if they want (no need of moving to Málaga if you don’t want to). For research personnel, Universidad de Málaga usually offers the opportunity of doing up to 40 hours of teaching on the Psychology degree. This is voluntary and cannot be done remotely.
